Handbook of MacHining and Metalworking Calculations

Ronald A. Walsh “Handbook of MacHining and Metalworking Calculations ” McGraw Hill Text 2002-11 ISBN:0071414851 PDF 379 pages 2,9 Mb
Designed for upper division electromagnetism courses or as a reference for electrical engineers and scientists, this book introduces Maxwell s equations and electromagnetic waves as soon as possible (i.e., in the first third of the book), and then discusses electrostatics, magnetostatics, induction, etc., in the light of those equations. The book also provides a thorough treatment of vector field theory which emphasizes the rotational invariance of the dot and cross products, together with div, grad, and curl, and thus gives a clear physical motivation for the use of those constructs to describe electric and magnetic fields. Unlike many competing books, Maxwell s Equations & the Principles of Electromagnetism covers topics such as advanced potentials, retarded fields, forces on dielectric liquids, antenna theory, and Faraday rotation. *BRIEF TABLE OF CONTENTS: 1. Introduction. 2. Vectors and Vector Fields. 3. Time-Independent Maxwell s Equations. 4. Time-Dependent Maxwell s Equations. 5. Electrostatic Calculations. 6. Dielectric and Magnetic Media. 7. Magnetic Induction.8.Electromagnetic Energy and Momentum. 9. Electromagnetic Radiation. 10. Relativity and Electromagnetism. Appendixes. Index.

Introduction to High Energy Physics

Donald H. Perkins, “Introduction to High Energy Physics”Cambridge University Press ISBN: 0521621968 4 edition DJVU 440 pages 9 MB

This highly regarded textbook for advanced undergraduates provides a comprehensive introduction to modern particle physics. Coverage emphasizes the balance between experiment and theory. It places stress on the phenomenological approach and basic theoretical concepts rather than rigorous mathematical detail. Donald Perkins also details recent developments in elementary particle physics, as well as its connections with cosmology and astrophysics. A number of key experiments are also identified along with a description of how they have influenced the field. Perkins presents most of the material in the context of the Standard Model of quarks and leptons. He also fully explores the shortcomings of this model and new physics beyond its compass (such as supersymmetry, neutrino mass and oscillations, GUTs and superstrings). The text includes many problems and a detailed and annotated further reading list. The volume will also provide a solid foundation for graduate study.

Applications of Plant Metabolic Engineering

R. Verpoorte, A.W. Alfermann, T.S. Johnson “Applications of Plant Metabolic Engineering”
Springer 2007-11-09 ISBN: 1402060300 332 pages PDF 6,1 Mb
Written by leading international experts in the field of plant metabolic engineering, this book discusses, mainly, applications of plant metabolic engineering. Metabolic engineering, which is part of second generation biotechnology, has made several contributions at basic level as well as at conceptualising products ever since its emergence in the early 1980s. Applications resulting from metabolic engineering are expected to play a very important role in future for plant breeding, e.g. for improved resistance or improved traits concerning health promoting constituents, and production of fine chemicals such as medicines, flavors and fragrances.
Considering the tremendous progress that has been made since our first book in the year 2000 urgency was felt to bring together cutting edge research in plant metabolic engineering in applied aspects as a handy reference book. This book has been predominantly dedicated to applied research of metabolic engineering, and a part of it has been allotted for fundamental research that has potential applications. This book is a unique source of information for all those involved with plants as chemical factories of fine chemicals and also to more experienced scientists who work on transgenic plants, besides, senior researchers, graduate students, post-doctroral students, teachers and students as well.

Muhammad The Prophet Of Islam

How It All Began Nearly four thousand years ago, in the Sumerian town of Ur in the valley of the river Euphrates, lived a young man named Abraham. The people of Ur had once worshipped Allah but as time passed they forgot the true religion and started praying to idols, statues made of wood or clay and sometimes even of precious stones. Even as a small child Abraham could not understand how his people, and especially his father, could make these images with their own hands, call them gods, and then worship them. He had always refused to join his people when they paid respect to these statues. He would leave town to sit alone and think about heavens and the worlds around him.. He was sure his people were doing wrong and so alone he searched for the right way. One clear night as he sat staring at the sky he saw a beautiful shining star, so beautiful that he cried out: 'This must be Allah!' He looked at it in awe for some time, until suddenly it began to fade and then it disappeared. He turned away in disappointment saying: I love not things that set. (Koran vi.77)

The four calligraphy fonts, Naskh, Nastaliq, Thuluth and Shikasta in their current forms, have a history of over 700 years. During past centuries, the masters of calligraphy have perfected these fonts, and have created artworks that are pleasing to the eye. The rules of the combination ligatures in calligraphy are so complicated that it takes years of training and practice for someone to become a master in one of the Islamic calligraphy fonts. The famous calligraphers have a lifetime dedication to this art.
